Filing a Claim
It is our hope that as a member of Texas Pioneer Farm Mutual, you'll never need our claims service. However, should the event arise, you can rest assured that a caring representative of our company - knowledgeable and familiar with the area - will provide the assistance you need.
The following list will assist you in promptly reporting a claim for processing:
- Give prompt notice to your Agent of the time and date of loss and the circumstance surrounding the loss. There are timely reporting requirements on claims.
- If your loss involves a crime, such as theft, burglary or vandalism, contact your local peace officers immediately to report the incident. A copy of the incident report will be required to process the claim.
- Protect the property from further damage by making reasonable and necessary repairs to protect the property. Costs for reasonable and necessary repairs are included as a part of your claim. Keep all of your receipts for this purpose.
- If accidental water damage occurs, be sure to shut off any water supply that may cause further damage. Begin immediate procedures to extract damaging water leakage and begin necessary drying process. Calling a professional water extraction service is highly recommended. Remove furnishings from the affected area or put up on blocks to dry out. Wet clothing or linens should be cleaned and dried immediately to avoid mildew.
- Keep an accurate record of repair or replacement expenses for proper reimbursements when applicable.
- Make a list of all damaged personal property, showing the quantity, description and amount of loss. Attach all bills, receipts and related documents that you have to justify the figures in the inventory.
We may request more information, if during the investigation of the claim such additional information is necessary to process your claim. If you have any questions and are unable to promptly reach your agent, please call Home Office at 512-255-4874 or toll free 800-258-1934.
The list provided above may not be the complete process for reporting or processing your claim. If a loss occurs on your insured property, you should refer to your policy for a more detailed explanation of the claims procedures. You can find "Your Duties After Loss" under Article VI Section 1.
